SMS Messaging from Bootup Studios

Last updated May 27, 2026

Bootup Studios' SMS feature is fully opt-in. Users opt in either by (a) creating a Bootup Studios account on the web and linking their own mobile number from the in-app Settings page, or (b) texting our number themselves and walking through the in-message signup consent flow described below. We do not send marketing, promotional, or bulk messages. We do not message anyone who has not initiated contact and explicitly consented.

Who can receive messages

People who have opted in via one of the two paths below:

  • Created a Bootup Studios account at bootupstudios.ai, signed in, and linked and verified their own mobile number on the Settings → SMS Access page; or
  • Texted our number first themselves and completed the in-message signup flow (provided their name, email, and replied YES to our consent prompt). The conversation itself proves they control the number.

Numbers that have not completed one of these flows will not receive any messages from Bootup Studios.

Sign up by SMS

If you text our number from a phone that does not yet have a Bootup Studios account linked, we reply with a welcome message that includes the carrier-required disclosures and asks for your full name. The flow is three short turns:

  1. You text anything to our number. We reply:
Welcome to Bootup Studios! I'll set you up in 3 quick steps. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help. First, what's your full name?
  2. You reply with your name. We then ask for your email.
  3. You reply with your email. We then ask for explicit consent:
Got it. By replying YES you agree to our Terms (bootupstudios.ai/terms) and Privacy Policy (bootupstudios.ai/privacy) and to receive SMS at this number. Reply STOP to opt out anytime. Reply YES to create your account.
  4. You reply YES. We create your account and text you a one-tap sign-in link for the web app. If you reply anything else (including NO or STOP) we do not create an account.

At any point during this flow you can reply STOP and we will not create an account and will not message you further.

How to opt in

  1. Create an account and sign in at bootupstudios.ai.
  2. Navigate to Settings → SMS Access and enter your own mobile phone number into the "Link Phone" field.
  3. Bootup Studios sends you a single SMS with a 6-digit verification code:
Your Bootup Studios verification code is: 123456. It expires in 10 minutes. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
  4. Enter that code back in Settings (or reply to the text with the code) to confirm you control the number.
  5. Only after successful verification is your number stored as opted-in. We do not send any further messages to numbers that have not been verified.

Types of messages we send

  • Verification codes. "Your Bootup Studios verification code is: 123456. It expires in 10 minutes. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
  • Plan-ready notifications. Sent once when a business plan you started generating in the Bootup Studios app finishes. "Bootup Studios: your Acme Corp business plan is ready to review at bootupstudios.ai. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
  • Replies to user-initiated commands sent by the user to our number (e.g. asking for their todos, plan, or saved leads). "You have 4 open todos for Acme Corp. Top: 'Finalize pitch deck' (due Fri). Reply STOP to opt out."
  • Lead-search results when the user texts a search command. "Here are 3 leads matching 'fintech founders in NYC': 1) Jane Doe — CEO at Acme... Reply STOP to opt out."

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on your usage. Most users receive between 0 and 30 messages per week.

Carrier rates

Message and data rates may apply. Check with your wireless carrier for details. Bootup Studios does not charge you for messages.

How to opt out

You can opt out at any time. Either method below stops all further messages immediately and deletes your phone number from our systems:

  • Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT) to any message from us.
  • Click "Disconnect" on the Settings → SMS Access page inside the Bootup Studios app.

After opting out, reply START if you want to resubscribe; you will then need to re-link your number in Settings to receive messages again.

HELP

Reply HELP to any message for support information. You can also email us at developer@bootupstudios.ai.

Privacy

Phone numbers and message metadata are handled as described in Section 6 of our Privacy Policy. SMS is delivered via Twilio; we do not sell your phone number, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
